Payment & Policies

We are currently an in-network provider for Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield and Aetna Insurance.

Nurtured Ground is considered out-of-network with insurance providers not listed above. Out-of-network means that we do not have a contract with your health insurance plan provider. However, it is still possible to use these benefits.

At the time of service, you pay the fee directly and we will provide you with a monthly Superbill to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. The reimbursement is paid directly to you.

Please check with your insurance company to determine if out-of-network benefits apply. All fees are due at the time of service unless alternative arrangements have been made in advance. Accepted payment methods include cash, checks, and credit/debit cards.

For those experiencing financial hardship, I offer a limited number of discounted appointments through a sliding fee scale. These reduced-rate sessions are available on a first-come, first-served basis for clients who demonstrate financial need. Please contact to discuss eligibility or explore alternative options.

No Surprises Act & Good Faith Estimate Notice

The “No Surprises Act” requires providers to inform their uninsured and private pay patients that they have a right to a “Good Faith Estimate” to help them estimate the expected charges they may be billed for services.

  • You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining the cost of therapy services.

  • Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency health care services, including medical tests, prescription medications, hospital fees, and psychotherapy services.

  • Make sure your therapist gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your appointment. You may also ask your therapist for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an appointment.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

  • For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 985-3059.
